Bonnie Simmons presents a unique mix of singer/songwriter folk, rock, soul, country, and R&B. She often presents interviews and live performances from the KPFA Performance Room during her weekly show.
Bonnie Simmons is a California radio personality and Audio Director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Simmons is also Executive Director of the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation, and runs the transport dept. for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. She is also a band manager, currently managing or having previously managed Cake, Noe Venable and Etienne de Rocher.
Bonnie got her start at KSAN ("The Jive 95") in 1968 as the record librarian, then became music librarian, music director, and on-air DJ. Bonnie became KSAN's Program Director in 1975, following the sudden death of KSAN co-founder Tom "Big Daddy" Donahue. She also worked on other Bay Area radio stations KFOG, Live 105 (KITS), KOFY-FM, Double 99 (KDBK) and KUSF, before joining KPFA in the '90s.
